Day 0: Arrival in Manaus

Upon arrival at Manaus International Airport (MAO), our hostess will be waiting to welcome you and coordinate your transfer to the hotel.

Overnight accommodation at the Juma Ópera Hotel in Manaus, on the night before departure to Tefé, is included in the trip package. Room arrangements will be based on the package purchased, with either double or single occupancy, as applicable.

The pickup time for the following morning will depend on the scheduled departure of your domestic Azul Airlines flight from Manaus to Tefé. Your transfer will be arranged to ensure you arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight departure time.

Important – Domestic Flight to Tefé: The domestic flight from Manaus to Tefé is not included in the trip package and must be purchased separately. Please make sure your flight is booked in advance and that you have your ticket available for check-in.

You can purchase your ticket directly through the official Azul Airlines website or with the assistance of a travel agent.

Day 1

Enjoy a buffet breakfast at the hotel before your transfer picks you up for the journey to Manaus International Airport (MAO). Your pickup time will be scheduled according to your Azul Airlines flight departure, allowing sufficient time to arrive at the airport at least two hours before your flight.

Upon check-in, you will board your domestic Azul Airlines flight from Manaus to Tefé. For direct flights with no stops, the flight takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes..

Upon arrival at Tefé Airport, our local representative will be waiting to welcome you and coordinate your ground transfer to the Tefé dock, approximately a 20-minute drive.

From the dock, you will board a fast boat for the final leg of your journey to the lodge, which takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Upon arrival at the lodge, the afternoon will be dedicated to settling in, getting familiar with the facilities, and preparing your fishing tackle for the days ahead.

Fishing days - 2 to 6 days (depending on the package)

Each day, individual teams (2 anglers) will explore the Pirarucu Lodge fishing area, fishing its extensive network of channels and lagoons.. Each team will share a specially designed fly-fishing boat equipped with two large casting platforms, accompanied by an English-speaking professional fly-fishing guide and a local Native guide. The boat setup allows both anglers to fish at the same time.

Typical Day:
5:30 am – Coffee is hot
6:30 am – Breakfast
7:30 am – Head to fishing grounds
12:00 pm – Anglers will have a short ride back to the lodge for lunch.
2:30 pm – After lunch, fishing will resume until late afternoon when the guides will deliver anglers back to the lodge around 5:30 pm.
6:30 pm – Cocktails and appetizers
7:30 pm – Dinners will be served inside the dining room area.

Final day - return to Manaus

After breakfast, you will begin your journey back to Tefé, traveling by fast boat from the lodge to the Tefé dock, followed by a ground transfer to Tefé Airport. The departure time from the lodge will be arranged according to your Azul Airlines flight schedule, allowing sufficient time to arrive at the airport and complete check-in before departure.

Please make sure your domestic flight from Tefé to Manaus has been booked in advance and that you have your flight ticket available for check-in.

Upon arrival at Manaus International Airport (MAO), one of our representatives will be waiting to welcome you. A transfer will be available to take you to the Juma Ópera Hotel or another hotel of your choice, according to your reservation. Please note that any additional overnight stays and related transfers are not included in the trip package.

If you plan to depart Manaus on the same day you arrive from Tefé, we strongly recommend booking your onward flight with a minimum connection time of 3 hours after your scheduled arrival in Manaus. This will help accommodate potential delays and reduce the risk of missing your connecting flight.

Regardless of your departure time, we can arrange a transfer to Manaus International Airport for your onward journey.

Important - Domestic flights and itinerary changes

Domestic flights operated by Azul Airlines are not included in the trip package and are subject to the airline’s schedules and operational changes. Untamed Angling is not responsible for any changes, delays, cancellations, or schedule adjustments affecting these flights that may impact the fishing itinerary, including changes to scheduled day-in and day-out dates. Any resulting changes to the fishing schedule will be subject to operational availability and cannot be guaranteed.
