Water and weather lined up, delivering clean sight-fishing and true surface action. Arapaima moved with intent, exploding on top and pushing wakes across the lagoons.
Tambaqui held tight to flooded trees and pulled hard, demanding steady pressure and solid knots. Arowana kept the pace lively—visual eats, fast runs, and acrobatics throughout the day. A classic Amazon rhythm: quiet windows punctuated by sharp bursts of energy, with consistent shots at all three species.

UNFORGETTABLE MOMENT
Matt Harris
A familiar face at Pirarucú, Matt returned for his fifth visit and was rewarded with an unforgettable catch—a massive 232 cm arapaima. The fish exploded on the surface and fought with unstoppable force before finally coming to hand. A true jungle giant and a moment that captures the very essence of what makes Pirarucú so special.
Jerry
At 82 years young, Jerry delivered an incredible lesson in patience and determination. After a long and precise fight, he hooked a fish estimated at over 220 cm. Just as it was about to be photographed, the giant broke free and disappeared into the depths—a reminder that in the Amazon, not every battle ends with a picture, but every one leaves a story worth telling.
LOOKING AHEAD
With water levels continuing to drop and fish activity increasing, the coming period promises even more surface action and opportunities for anglers to connect with the largest freshwater predators on the planet. Pirarucú continues to remind us that every cast can hold the memory of a lifetime.
